Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready, on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know you have been thinking about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospect of a good meal (especially his favorite dish) is part of the warm welcome needed.
Another great one:
Listen to him. You may have a dozen important things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first - remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours.

Wow, how things can change in 50 years! (and I'm sure glad that they have!) It's all centered around THE MAN .. like his wife wouldn't be hungry. Gosh, I sure am hungry, but nope, according to your article I'm supposed to sit still and be quite. Sorry about my little feminist ways coming out. I guess it's a good thing I wasn't born 50 years ago!
